He’s been curing the ailing, treating the wounded and improving the general health of Brampton residents for 22 years. And now, Dr. Lorne Langer is thrilled to announce the opening of his new 5300 square foot, state of the art Medical Centre and Walk-In Clinic.
This well-equipped and beautifully appointed clinic is located in the same plaza in which the former clinic was located - Heart Lake Town Centre at the corner of Kennedy Rd. and Sandalwood Parkway. The bright, family friendly office has 12 examination rooms to accommodate Brampton’s steadily growing community, an on-site lab staffed by registered nurses, a conference room and children’s waiting area. There is also an on-site dental clinic.
"The expansion of this clinic was necessary," Dr. Langer said. "There is a shortage of physicians in Brampton, and lots of pressure on the one emergency department. My goal in developing this Medical Centre and Walk-In Clinic was to provide Brampton-area residents with high-quality, timely and convenient family care. This includes both ongoing and urgent medical needs with coverage 365 days a year."
Walk-In Clinic – 265 Days a year
Experienced physicians staff the on-site Walk-In Clinic 365 days a year during the clinic's extended hours.
The doors are open weekdays to 9:00pm and weekends and holidays to 6:00pm. Two doctors cover the weekends and other peak times to minimize patient wait time.
In addition to meetings patients’ semi-urgent medical needs such as sick children, unwell adults, burns or other injuries, the walk-in is staffed with registered nurses who conduct EKG’s and pulmonary (breathing) testing, take blood work and administer flu and allergy shots, and conduct TB skin tests means quicker turn around for patients who needn’t wait to see the doctor.
In addition to handling everyday medical problems, Dr. Langer and Associated is unique in that unlike most other walk-in clinics, the facility is equipped for a number of services that normally require the patient to visit the hospital emergency room.
This includes suturing (stitches), putting on casts, administering Ventolin masks for children, echo cardiograms (ultrasound if the heart), and 24 hour Holter monitors for assessing heart palpitations.
"Many of the services we perform help patients avoid the hospital emergency room, saving them precious time and freeing up the emergency room for more dangerously ill patients." said Dr. Langer.
