Heart Lake Road closure extended until Friday

The Region of Peel has advised that the Heart Lake Road closure between Mayfield Road and Countryside Drive will be extended to Friday.
The road closures were slated to take place Jan. 2 to Jan. 18.
Residents are reminded only local traffic will be permitted to travel on Heart Lake Road north of Countryside Drive and south of Mayfield Road.
Peel has utilized paid duty police to supervise the closure and have posted detours on Countryside Drive, Dixie Road and Mayfield Road.
Construction in the city's north end will allow for the completion of Mayfield Road-- Stage One, region officials said.
FCM Construction will carry out the works on Mayfield Road, on behalf of the region, between Inder Heights and Heart Lake Road.
All emergency services and school boards have been notified of the closure in advance.
