City of Brampton - Mount Chinguacousy Closed for Holiday Break Ski and Snowboard Camps
January 2nd, 2007
- Brampton Guardian
Mount Chinguacousy at Donald M. Gordon Chinguacousy Park is experiencing above-seasonal temperatures, which has forced the cancellation of holiday break ski and snowboard camps, originally scheduled to run from Dec. 27, 2006, to Jan. 5, 2007.
Staff are continually monitoring the weather forecast and hope to open the ski, snowboard and tubing facilities as soon as weather permits. To make snow, the City's snowmaking system requires temperatures of -3 Celsius, with the humidity being below 85 per cent. With these conditions it will take a minimum of two to three days for the hill to be safely usable for programs.
Anyone planning to ski, snowboard or tube at Mount Chinguacousy, please call 905-458-6555 extension 112 for up-to-date information.
Visit the City of Brampton's website at www.brampton.ca or check the weather network for up-to-date information about facility operating status and snow conditions.
