Winter activities lingering
Friday, March 25th, 2005
- Brampton Guardian
Anyone hoping to spend time outdoors enjoying winter activities this long weekend are in luck.
The weather has cooperated, so the skating trail at Gage Park and the Chinguacousy Ski Hill will both be open this weekend. Both are normally closed by the time Easter weekend rolls around, but the holiday is early this year, so the city can keep the popular attractions open for a few more days, according to officials.
Mount Chinguacousy is offering a special discount pass with a full day lift ticket being offered through Monday for $12.50, which is the regular price of a two-hour pass.
"With the season coming to a close, this long weekend will be the last chance for skiers, snowboarders and tubers to ride Mount Chinguacousy," said Pam Gordon, recreation coordinator for the City of Brampton. "With reduced lift ticket prices this long weekend and our brand new Wonder Carpet lift, there has never been a better time to come out and enjoy a day on the hill."
The ski hill hours for the long weekend will be: Today: 9 a.m. - 9:30 p.m.; Saturday: 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.; Sunday: 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.; Monday: 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.
